Meanwhile, back on the farm
Reviewing guild membership who has over 10% Raid Attendance over the past 60 days, we have determined our current leaders in the areas of farming, or delivering, Shiny Brass Idols for 2022. Do note that many people deliver idols to our raids but don't collect the DKP bonus for that action - we thank those people as well.
Overall in 2022 we farmed 401 idols. 213 of those had delivery bonuses awarded. Can anyone surpass these dedicated Kingdom members over the next two months?
**Also, thank you to my amazing druid friend and statatician, Goggart, for pulling this data for me!
Kingdom Progression via Research and Development
In Kingdom we take progression seriously, and we are always looking for fun new challenges to focus our raid force on. Sometimes this takes the form of developing our understanding of game mechanics to help progress our strategies as a guild.
Yesterday was a great example of that, as our Research and Development Team (uhm, I mean the Raid Leaders) gathered together with a host of volunteers to study aggro mechanics in the Plane of Growth, ultimately leading a raid force of 95 to a fun and unconventional draft week speed run kill of Tunare.
Big callout to the testers who assisted with the Plane of Growth study. As stated by Pacatus "A lot of experimentation and lives went into this science, especially the 4:00 am attempts". The following Kingdom raiders* (in alphabetical order) participated in the project - Anarke, Award, Cothatanii, Faewyndyl, Jumo, Lethan, Meters, Owned, Pacatus, & Pyrrh.
*if I missed anyone, let me know so I can add them in!
It is also important to extend our gratitude to the many members of Kingdom who participated in the live trials (doesn't that sound better than raid wipes?) of our theories.
Ultimately, Tunare was defeated and Kingdom walked away with serious progression of our strategies in that zone, as well as 2 Massive Heartwood Thorns, a Braid of Golden Hair, and a Sap Encrusted Branch.
For the Kingdom!
Raid Results - Dec 1 through Jan 10, 2023
It is always fun to look back at what we have experienced and accomplished as a team, and the last few months have been busy, indeed. With great thanks to Goggart and Yizerno for compiling the data and presenting various views and sorts on it, I present the following statistics pulled from our recent raid results:
The raiding data is December 1 through January 10; but we included information on quakes from November 1 to tell the entire story of the crazy string of quakes we endured (I mean, enjoyed).
January Draft Results
The first of six Draft Events on Project 1999 Green server was completed yesterday, with fireworks and hot dice at the Dreadlands wizard spires. Results are as follows:
Lockouts commence this Friday at 11:59 Eastern. Good luck to all of the participating guilds on your upcoming kills!
Double Drop Sontalak
At sunset on what otherwise proved to be a slow day of raiding, 72 brave Kingdom Knights took on the challenge of downing the mighty guardian of the Temple of Veeshan, Sontalak himself. He indeed proved to be a formidable foe, but rewarded us with what believe may be the last "double drop" loot on a raid target on the server.
As legend tells it, after the sacrifice of Xakz (he fed Sontalak a tiny snack on the first pull...) and some clever baiting by Sir Greywind's bear cub pet, the mighty Sir Hoggles bravely marched forth to lure the beast into a well laid trap set by our (properly buffed) army of Knights, Grunts, Adventurers, and Calcium. Although the stress of the hunt (or perhaps a graphics bug) caused Sir Hoggles to lose sight of his target during the pull, the guidance of his friends assisted in his ability to successfully return to camp with Sontalak in tow.
In the end, and through what I can only assume to be 10's of thousands of Wort Pot charges, Kingdom was victorious in slaying Sontalak, and walked away with a healthy plunder.
Loot included the following - and congrats to Aurorea, Cothsum, Ticklers, Fetching, and Queequeg on your new items!
- Matchless Dragonhide Breastplate
- Sontalak's Talisman (sleepers key)
- Sontalak's Talisman (sleepers key)
- Heavy Dragonhide Breastplate
- Worked Dragonhide Breastplate
- ....and half a book's worth of spells
.... and for the rest of the story, here's the pile of corpses, including proof positive of Calcium's attendance (but no evidence of proper buffage....)
We shall call this article ... Number Four
It was Monday after a long holiday week of raiding, and the Knights of Kingdom were all safely at home pondering the chain of events that lead them to a record FOUR Tunare kills in one week. Tun4re. What a way to ring in the New Year. But, how did this come to reality?
We all understand that correlation does not equal causation. Despite this, many of us blame one of our oldest members, Sir Zegzag, for the spare quakes. It's a well documented, but lesser known bit of Kingdom history that a Zegzag social event is certain to end in a quake. After all, it has happened the last 4 times he planned one:
- The "Balance of Norrath" event (7/7/21)
- "Zegzug's Mischievious Request" event (8/11/2021)
- ...and not once, but twice this past week as he tried to run "the Season of Frostfell" to celebrate Quakemas.
But, despite this fairly clear evidence of responsibility, Zegzag isn't the only who could be to blame here. Our current reigning King-BD, the incomparable Sir Calian, declared that he would call a drunken raid this week. Could this be the cause of the New Years Eve quake? We thought drunken Sky couldn't be topped (although I highly recommend drunken Sky with Kincakes in attendance...) but an entire drunken QUAKE? Luckily, we managed a great kill list - topped off this afternoon by none other than Tun4re. 4 Growth clears in one week. Are the GM's testing our mettle after 2-a-day sky raids during the first Draft week?
Needless to say, we're all looking forward to a week of levelling, recharges, faction (double faction goes both ways ... so many KOS raiders in TOV this past weekend!)
With that, I leave you with kill shots and loot lists from our FOUR Tunare kills. Happy New Year, P99!
Just in case you want to see it in summary mode - 24 pieces of loot from Tunare this week, not including robes. (Thanks, Loonare!)
The Twelve Quakes of Christmas
I know we're only up to three so far, but our Quake Watch is on high for the New Year .... and in honor of the pending 4th quake Kingdom brings to you a final holiday song for the season.
Sing Along, if you dare ...
"On the Twelfth Quake of Christmas, the GM's gave to me ...
- Twelve Buffs A-Blinking
- Eleven AFK toons (gotta open those presents sometime)
- Ten Discord Batphones (per hour)
- Nine Hour Growth Clear
- Eight (teen) second DA's
- Seven Hour HOT farm
- Six missing (consumed, woops...) wart pots
- Fiiiive Second Heal Chain (omg finally, it's slowed ... HERO!!!)
- Four AM VP
- Three Tunare Kills (will we see Tun4re??)
- Two Ring Ten Re-Wards (thanks, double loot!)
- and a spouse, who is very AN-GREE.
Per Sir Goggart.... "Did you know, since December 24th we’ve looted as a guild 372 unique items? And did you further know that we’ve spent 223,378 as a guild?!!? And lastly, did you know we’ve earned as a guild 132,017 DKP?! That's a crazy amount of raiding, pixel gathering, and fun that was had.
Happy Quake Watch, everyone, and Happy New Year!
Happy Holidays
Happy Holidays from our family to yours!
The Adventures of King Dalsavis
Kingdom has a longstanding tradition - adopted as we combined guild cultures in a previous guild merger - of honoring members though a temporary rank called King-BD. Being crowned King for a week is a peer award, awarded to a player that the current King has noticed for their contributions to our guild. In addition to other in-guild recognitions, our Kings often choose to demonstrate their sovereign power by enacting decrees. These activities are sometimes teambuilding or conversation starters within Discord, sometimes requests to focus on various aspects of raid preparation, and sometimes take the form of fun guild events sponsored and run by the King (or Queen) themselves.
Below you can see one of our recent guild events - sponsored by non other than King Emeritus Dalsavis himself!
Upon a full moon, cresting above the edges and peaks of the Butcherblock Mountains, the chosen King-BD, Dalsavis Skullcrusher paced excitedly.
The battle was poised to begin and determine the Champion of Kaladim. Axes had been sharpened, armor was polished and beards were combed.
Following several rounds of combat that lasted deep into the evening, a champion emerged, Crepejack the Rogue bested the best and emerged victorious.
Keeping with tradition, a final Hunt that all the children in Faydewer were permitted to participate in was held in the valleys of the foothills while the feast was prepared. Only seven children were lose to goblins this season, a welcome reduction to the fourteen of last year. Crepe, the Champion, was found by the swiftly footed Aaron and awarded a mushroom sack filled with as many rat pelts and ingots as he was capable of lifting over his head.
Until next season my eager Dwarven brothers and sisters. Keep your mugs full and your axes cruel.
Quake Bounty
Now that we're all recovering from Asca's birthday party (midnight quake....) we find our friend Lord Vyemm is guarding the horde of loot that Kingdom brought in through over 36 raid targets in 20 hours. Yes, I typed that correctly. Curious if anyone can recite the kill list out loud in one breath?

Raiding results - week ending 12/11
After an action packed weekend of regular 7-day cycle raiding (the first natural cycle in quite some time), it is time to share our raiding results for the cycle. Our kill list from the weekend includes a Ring War, Dain Frostreaver, The Final Arbiter, Dagarn the Destroyer, Gozzrem, Lady Vox, King Tormax, Lord Feshlak, The Progenitor, Terror, Cazic Thule, A Broken Golem, Lord Koidoken, Hoshkar, Lendiniara the Keeper, Lord Sevalak, Talendor, Phara Dar, Zordak Ragefire, Essedera, Master of the Guard, The Statue of Rallos Zek, The Avatar of War, Velketor the Sorcerer, Lepethida, the Plane of Sky, and our old friend Noble Dojorn. Many a new strategy was attempted, and the guild demonstrated flexibility and skill throughout the weekend as we enjoyed contributions from many a new and veteran Kingdom member.
In addition to our incredible recruiting classes of late, Kingdom has been fortunate over the past week to be able to accept many transfer guildmates into our guild ranks, and it was fun to watch so many of them win items this weekend in the DKP bidding! Congratulations to our new members who earned raid loot this weekend including the following items (This list represent items won by members in the guild less than two weeks...):
- Shovel of the Harvest
- Crown of Narandi
- Earthshaker
- Unadorned Leather Leggings
- Lendiniara's talisman
- Veldrak's Shortblade
- Chestplate of Fiery Might
- Net of the Deep Sea
- Shaman Epic
Introducing - Peghed, Purple Club CEO
Ramp tanking like a pro this morning on our Coffee With Vindi event, Sir Peghed not only joined the purple club, but was named the CEO after this near death experience:
Where's Milbo ... a tale of an adventurous halfling
One of our amazing guild druids (named Milbo....) was having fun shortly after joining the raiding ranks of Kingdom, posting selfies at each kill site. His photos were getting progressively better, and inspired Sir Jumjumshot the Templar to do a bit of photoshop action himself, as we all began wondering where we'd find Milbo next.
If you happen to have a Milbo sighting somewhere fun in Norrath, or elsewhere in this wonderful world of ours, share it with us and let's see if together we can answer the question of "Where's Milbo"!
Happy Thanksgiving!
In honor of this year's Thanksgiving Holiday, Kingdom presents the 2022 saga of Norrath's national Thanksgiving turkey ... er, checks notes again... stonegazer cockatrice, named Charlene the Cockatrice. She is the sister of the late Charlie the Cockatrice, who nearly earned clemency in 2021 but fell victim to typical Everquest RNG. You can read about Charlie https://kingdomdkp.com/eqdkp/index.php?a=181here
Please enjoy the holiday, and watch for episode two of Kingdomgiving 2022 to find out the fate of Charlene!
